“Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers”. This means that the harvest is ready, but God wishes to enlist helpers to bring it into the storehouse. God needs them. He needs people to say: yes, I am ready to become your harvest labourer; I am ready to offer help so that this harvest which is ripening in people’s hearts may truly be brought into the storehouses of eternity and become an enduring, divine communion of joy and love.

“Pray the Lord of the harvest” also means that we cannot simply “produce” vocations; they must come from God. This is not like other professions, we cannot simply recruit people by using the right kind of publicity or the correct type of strategy. The call which comes from the heart of God must always finds its way into the heart of man. And yet, precisely so that it may reach into hearts, our cooperation is needed. To pray the Lord of the harvest means above all to ask him for this, to stir his heart and say: “Please do this! Rouse labourers! Enkindle in them enthusiasm and joy for the Gospel! Make them understand that this is a treasure greater than any other, and that whoever has discovered it, must hand it on!”

"The whole life of a Religious

is contained in

the motto of Saint Francis:

MY GOD AND MY ALL."

Father Bonaventure, P.C.P.A. Founder

Saint Francis spent whole nights in prayer

saying over and over again:

My God and my All...Deus Meus et Omnia.

This simple prayer sums up our entire life

as a Poor Clare of Perpetual Adoration.

Our life is one of total dedication to perpetual adoration of Our Lord Jesus Christ,

Truly Present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, in a spirit of reparative thanksgiving.

What is "reparative thanksgiving"?

Reparative thanksgiving can be defined as offering Our Lord our gratitude His Love and Grace  in place of those who never thank Him; it is to love Him for those who have no time for Him.  It is to "make thanksgiving our dominant thought...in taking upon ourselves, with the Savior and through Him, reparation for ingratitudes, and in becoming victims of thanksgiving..." (from the Early Constitutions).

Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament is our fulfillment.  To be His spouses and adorers is our identity and our joy.  Our vocation can be summed up in one single word: ADORATION.  Our vocation is the embracing of 'the one thing necessary.'

"You have not chosen Me,"

Our Blessed Lord said to His disciples,

"No, I have chosen you."

Each and every one of us has been chosen

to bear fruit for the Kingdom, and our baptism

is a special mark of this choice.

Beyond this, though, some are chosen

and set apart for God alone

in the consecrated life.

Totus Tuus sums up the life of a religious:

  TOTALLY YOURS.

This totality is lived out through profession

of the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity

and obedience.  Poverty says God is enough

for me; Chastity says His Love possesses me;

and Obedience says YES to whatever

 this Love demands of me.
