On May 2nd, the vigil of the Investment, the Sisters gathered together to thank our Eucharistic King for the gift of a new Novice to Our Community, and to entrust this vocation to Jesus through Mary.

To the right, here are some pictures from the Benediction Service and May Crowning.

Then, on May 3, 2007, Feast of Sts. Philip and James, the long awaited day for "Sr. Mary's Investment" arrived!  We were blessed to be able to have Holy Mass and the Investment Ceremony at Sts. Simon and Jude Cathedral, with Bishop Olmsted presiding.

We were overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and friendship from our Diocesan Priests of Phoenix (23 Priests attended the Ceremony) and the the lay faithful (with nearly 900 in attendance).  It was beautiful to see many young people in attendance - with young women from Ville de Marie Academy as well as Seton Catholic (which is Sister's alma mater).  We hope and pray that the Lord planted many seeds through this blessed ceremony!

The Cathedral Schola delighted us with beautiful hymns and sacred chant.  After Mass, the Investiture Ceremony began.  Sr. Marie Andre spoke eloquently about the beauty of the contemplative life (click here to read a copy of the exhoration).  Then Sr. Mary received her new name:

Sister Jeanette Marie of the Precious Blood of Jesus!

Many of you may wonder who Sister's new patron is!  Well...it is none other than the great cord bearer (a.k.a. Third Order member) of the Franciscan Order, Saint Joan of Arc!  Her Feast Day is celebrated on May 30th.  Her Title Day is on July 1st, Feast of the Precious Blood.

After the Ceremony, there was a wonderful reception in the Parish Hall - where many, many of the faithful came to congratulate our new Novice.  A special thanks to Bishop Olmsted, Fr. Clements, all at the Cathedral who helped to make this such special day for Sr. Jeanette and our Community!
