October 2004 - Sr. Marie Andre and Sr. Mary Fidelis,
accompanied by Fr. Joseph Mary, MFVA, traveled to Phoenix for an initial
meeting with Bishop Olmsted to discuss the future Foundation in the
Diocese of Phoenix. It was a successful visit. Our initial
response to the site at Our Lady of Solitude was: "It's Home!" |

Here Sr. Marie Andre shields her eyes from the bright desert sun. From the first moment we came to Arizona, we sensed that it was HOME. Our first meeting with Bishop Olmsted was a true blessing. We found in him a 'kindred spirit'. Here is a closer view of the hermitages. Each is equipped with a bed, desk, small refridge, a chair and a bathroom. Here is the view we see each morning upon waking up. Our house overlooks Black Canyon City, and the Bradshaw Mountain range During our short visit, we were able to see a bit of downtown Phoenix, including St. Mary's Basilica next to the Diocesan Center. Here we are posing for a pic on the stairs of the beautiful Basilica
