Hail Mary,
woman of faith, First of the disciples!
Virgin Mother of the Church, help us always
to account for the hope that is in us,
with trust in human goodness and the
Fathers love.
Teach us to build up the world beginning
from within: in the depths of silence and
prayer,
in the joy of fraternal love, in the unique
fruitfulness of the Cross.

Dear Our Lady of Solitude Family,
The last
few months have been quite the roller coaster ride
for all of us! In June, Sr. Marie André was
diagnosed with breast cancer. Having just
battled a different kind of breast cancer four years
ago, this diagnosis was quite unexpected!
Sister has carried this cross with nobility and
resignation. In her calm and resilient soul,
she has borne this in union with the suffering
Christ - offering it for the fruitfulness of this
Foundation! How the Lord tests our trust!
After a successful lumpectomy and a series of
radiation treatments, she is on the mend. We
are all so grateful!
In lieu of
all of this, building plans and fundraising efforts
were put on hold. Now as 'normal life' begins
again, we want to share with you where we are in
regards to our plans, our hopes, our dreams...and
turning all of these into a reality - and something
beautiful for God! |

1. In July 2008, the
building plans were official completed.
We are now awaiting the necessary permits
from the county to begin site preparation.
Below are thumbnails of some of the updated
renderings. |

2.
At long last, we really are moving forward with
digging the well and pulling the electric. It
has almost become something of a joke to us, as we
have been hoping for this for over a year!
Truly this has been somewhat of a test for our
patience!

|
3.
A very kind and generous man has offered his
assistance to donate construction man power
and equipment for the site preparation.
We still need to raise funds for the actual
materials for the site pad (which includes
both the monastery and the chapel).
Estimated cost is: $800,000, which includes
the construction of the enclosure wall. |
|
4. After much prayer and discernment, we
will move forward with construction of the
Chapel, using the dedicated funds generously
donated last year. All of this
said, we still need to raise the necessary
funds for the actual monastery building.
In addition to this, there are
also some chapel appointments that have not
yet been purchased |
|
|
Therefore, we come to ask that you
prayerfully consider assisting us with a
gift to help lay the foundation or site pad
for the new Our Lady of Solitude Monastery
in Tonopah Arizona.
